DID SOMEONE SAY GIVEAWAY??
When I started with Beachbody (actually anything fitness related), I avoided one type of workout—dancing. It's not that I don't love dancing; it's just that I feel awkward in my own body pretty much most of the time. Just imagine a T-Rex trying to do a push-up and you will understand where I am coming from when it comes to dancing. The desire is there, but the ability maybe not so much.
When I heard about Country Heat, I kind of thought I'd be sitting this one out and doing a second round of 21-Day Fix Extreme or start Hammer & Chisel.—or lie on the couch and watch Netflix. When the sneak peek aired on Beachbody On Demand, I figured I would give it a try because there is no way I would be able to answer questions about the program if I didn't try it or promote it to my friends and family if I wasn't going to enjoy myself and feel it was effective.
Here were my observations during the 30-minute workout:
Minutes 1-5: Okay, I'm awkward, but I'm smiling. Like a lot.
Minutes 6-8: Oh I love this song!
Minutes 8-12: Why are my lower abs and thighs on fire? Oh, because it's Autumn Calabrese and that is what she does best.
Minutes 12-30: Wait...what??? Footloose? Yes!!! I'M A COUNTRY DANCER, Y'ALL (not really, but I was getting into it). At this point, my kids were joining in, my boyfriend had stopped working on his computer to find out what all the Yee Hawing was about, and I was having the time of my life while sweating my you know what off.
Minute 31: Huh? What do you mean it's over? But...I want to dance...
As you can see, it took about 1 minute to get over my awkwardness and get into the "country swing" of things (like what I did there?). I am a big believer already in this program. The Before and After results for the test group were super impressive, but I loved being able to try it out myself to see just how many calories I was going to burn with this workout without it feeling like...well...a workout. (I burned more calories in that half hour of having fun and dancing than I typically do jogging for a half hour—um...yes, more of that please!)
So here it is. We begin our Country Heat challenge group on Facebook next Monday, August 8th. We already have a great group of ladies who are joining us and who are very active and supportive in the group. If you are interested in joining, please fill out the form at the end of my rambling.
