There are so many things that make up each day of my life, and I want to tell you everything—who I am, why I started this blog, why I chose a T-Rex as my blog's mascot—but we will get to all that, in time.
Have you ever seen the movie Juno, where her father says, "I thought you were the kind of girl who knew when to say when," and her response is...
Enter younger (and sometimes current) version of myself, only instead of talking about what Juno's father was referring to, I can't seem to say no to new opportunities, and at times, this makes me question who I really am and what I really want to do with my life. I always thought this quality—trying out new things, dabbling with things that I had once let go—meant that I was indecisive, but I'm starting to see that this actually means I'm passionate. How about that for turning lemons into lemonade?
There are days where I still feel like I don't know who I am completely, but I am able to say that at 36 years old, I now know what I like and who I'd like to be on a daily basis.
My favorite role in life is getting to be the mommy of these two amazing kids. My son Ryan is soon to be 6 and Emma will be 4 next Monday. Warning: You will be seeing a lot of these little faces as they are the reason my sun rises every morning.

These moments are everything.
From 8:00 to 4:30 every Monday through Friday, you can catch me in a cubicle editing reports for the R&D branch of the FAA. It's technical, it's tedious, it's a passion of mine. I love my work and I am blessed to be a part of a group of snarky and witty editors.
Oh look, here is one of my witty co-workers/best friends—doing what most technical editors do—stirring peppers and onions!
Isn't she the cutest??
Every night after work, I get to go home and hang out with my kids and super patient boyfriend, Tim. He has helped get me through a lot—emotional highs and lows, Pokemon searching, and my fear of becoming a runner, to name just a few.
Say hi to Tim...and a random Rattata! (So cute when he's concentrating on food—Tim, not the Rat!)
I am a coach for Beachbody and have been using their products since 2008. I guess you can say that going up and down in weight over the past few years, searching to find what works best for me, and having a passion to help others and to teach them what I've learned, has always led me back to Beachbody and what they have to offer their customers. (Super big oversharing of personal weight loss journey blog entry coming soon!)
Me...and my kids...some weights...and something I have to repeat in my mind constantly.
So I do enjoy working out and feel better when I do. I also love to run (slowly) and in October ran my first marathon. Here I am finishing the marathon and thanking God that I lived to hug my children another day.
As you can see, no one is behind me, and it's not because I was one of the elite runners, if you catch my drift.
So to keep track of everything—all of my random thoughts, my fitness plans, meal plans, kids' schedules, appointments, and To-Do Lists, I am also a planner person...
or an addict, I should say.
I really want to get into more of why I created T-Rex Fitness and share all the fun things I have planned for future health and fitness challenges, but I think if you've made it this far in the blog post, you already deserve some applause. I really look forward to bringing all my passions together into one place, and I'm hoping that you will one day share some of your interests, struggles, and accomplishments with me! xoxo, Lisa
I want to know more about you! Post your answers in the comments!
If you could eat any food every day for the rest of your life and not have it affect your health and fitness goals, what would it be?
Mystic, Valor, or Instinct?
What is your favorite hot beverage?

Oh this is hard but if say ice cream.
ReplyDeleteInstinct
Don't really have one.
I think my choice would be pizza but I do love ice cream! Have you tried Talenti?
Delete1. Donuts
ReplyDelete2. I have no idea what that means.

3. Coffee.. always coffee.
<3 I feel like we need to meet up, get the kids together, walk around searching for Pokemon (Team Mystic), and then go for sushi afterward.
